Six common faults of magnetic pump

1. Magnetic pump cavitation: the main causes of pump cavitation are large resistance of pump inlet pipe, more gas phase of conveying medium, insufficient filling pump, insufficient energy head of pump inlet and so on. Cavitation does great harm to the pump. When cavitation occurs, the pump vibrates violently and the balance is seriously damaged, which will lead to damage to the bearing, rotor or impeller of the pump. This is the common cause of magnetic pump failure.

2. No medium or small flow rate of conveying medium: dry friction between the rotor spindle and the stable bearing and crushing the bearing. The magnetic pump provides lubrication and cooling to the sliding bearing by the conveying medium. in the case of no opening inlet valve or outlet valve, the sliding bearing is damaged by high temperature due to no lubrication and cooling of the conveying medium.

3. Damage to the isolation sleeve: the magnetic coupling of the magnetic pump is cooled by the medium conveyed by the pump. If there are hard particles in the medium, it is easy to cause scratches or scratches on the isolation sleeve, and sometimes it is possible to cause damage to the isolation sleeve if the maintenance method is improper.



4. Particles enter:

(1) ferromagnetic impurities and particles are not allowed to enter the magnetic actuator and bearing friction.

(2) Flushing the easily crystallized or precipitated medium in time (pouring fresh water into the pump cavity after stopping the pump and draining clean after running 1min) to ensure the service life of the sliding bearing.

(3) when conveying the medium containing solid particles, it should be filtered at the entrance of the pump flow pipe.


5. Demagnetization:

(1) the magnetic torque should not be designed to be too small.

(2) it should be operated under the specified temperature condition, and the medium temperature exceeding the standard is strictly prohibited. A platinum resistance temperature sensor can be installed on the outer surface of the magnetic pump isolation sleeve to detect the temperature rise in the annular area so as to alarm or stop when the temperature exceeds the limit.

6. Dry friction:

(1) idling is strictly prohibited.

(2) Media emptying is strictly prohibited.

(3) when the outlet valve is closed, the continuous operation time of the pump shall not exceed 2min to prevent the magnetic actuator from overheating and failure.
